As Chilean poet and singer Victor Jara said: "Yo no canto por cantar ni por tener buena voz" (I don't sing for the sake of singing, nor because I have a good voice). This phrase resonates with me, it inspires me and pushes me to embark on this KAMILA project. It's me, my song, my voice. The identity of a Latin American woman, a Chilean daughter of exiles born in Budapest. Singing far from my homeland the songs of my history, of my roots. These songs my mother sang during our exile, as well as those my grandmother taught me, over there, on the other side of the Andes mountain range.
